About the role

 

HeadStart is a new programme delivered by The Challenge that aims to get young people to volunteer in their local community so they mix with people from all walks of life, whilst providing them with the skills, experience and networks to get ahead in the work place. It inspires young people to volunteer by guaranteeing all those that complete 16+ hours with access to employment skills workshops and an interview for a paid job or internship with our corporate business partners.

 

We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser with relationship management experience to join our Development and Strategic Partnerships team. The ideal candidate will have a broad experience across fundraising, business development and relationship management. Candidates applying for the role should be dynamic, have experience running creative projects designed to generate revenue and managing relationships with a wide range of regional and national corporate businesses. We want a person who is enthusiastic and who thrives on balancing multiple priorities.

 

The key responsibilities and tasks of the post include:

 

·        To manage and develop a portfolio of corporate partnerships as part of the programme’s overall fundraising agenda.

·        To develop and maintain long-term mutually beneficial relationships with a diverse range of corporate partners to develop overall corporate funding potential.

·        Working closely with the Senior Partnerships Manager in new business development activities to on-board and develop both national and regional corporate partnerships, in each region the programme is operational.

·        Managing a fundraising budget to generate significant revenue whilst implementing a long-term corporate fundraising strategy.

·        Liaising with the operational delivery team to support on programme activities with corporate partners.

·        Creating and managing a range of fundraising events to develop new funding prospects and raise public awareness of programme milestones.

·        Track, analyse and report on core programme milestones, compiling regular reports and case studies to update corporate partners on programme developments.

 

The key skills required for the Corporate Partnerships Manager:

 

·        A minimum of 3 years experience in a corporate fundraising or a business development environment, with a proven track record of generating significant income.

·        Proven ability to manage and develop a number of senior and diverse relationships.

·        Experience managing and leading on fundraising events designed to engage existing and new corporate funders.

·        Have a high level of self-drive, motivation and enthusiasm.

·        Creative thinker who can develop innovative ways to meet and draw in funders.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability persuade, and deliver compelling and concise written emails and reports.

·        Good numeracy and IT skills, with the ability to analyse information and compile reports.

 

As a key member of the Development and Strategic Partnerships team, the Corporate Partnerships Manager will take a leading role in developing the national fundraising strategy for corporate funding, including both direct business development and long-term relationship management.

The Role

We are looking for an energetic and creative people leader to drive our efforts to enrol young people in our programmes. The role requires a rare combination of strengths in people, account, and process management. With support from a Sales Manager (SM), the Associate Sales Manager (ASM) will lead a team of ~ 6-10 staff, which could include a mix of experienced Sales Team Leaders (STL), Engagement Coordinators (ECs) and apprentices, to find and place 15-17 year-olds into The Challenge’s local NCS programmes. It represents a great opportunity to expand people leadership and management skills and to bring creativity to a sales and marketing approach. The ASM’s primary responsibilities will be:

·        Direct line management and motivation of ECs and STLs, possibly an apprentice

·        Oversee on-going training and coaching of an apprentice, ECs and STLs, including their professional development

·        Responsibility for setting and monitoring performance against individual and team targets for each area and close management to ensure delivery of targets

·        Input to national sales strategy (working with SMs)

·        Implement national strategy, and build adapted local strategy, processes, etc. to maximise growth

The role

The Challenge is looking for Sales Administrators to join a leading youth and integration charity. You will be involved in a fast-paced Sales Team supporting the recruitment of young people on to the National Citizen Service (NCS). NCS is a government backed programme that helps young people (age 15-17) build skills for work, life and transition into adulthood. The role is a short term, paid position within one of the fastest growing charities in the UK.

The NCS Sales Administrator’s primary responsibilities will be responsibility is assisting in the smooth recruitment and retention of NCS to include:  

·        Administrative duties to support sales and sign up processes including data checking, data entry and external communications

·        Build and foster relationships with a wide range of audiences particularly through telecommunications

·        Make outbound calls to young people and their parents or guardians to support recruitment and retention of participants

·        Processing and checking initial applications

·        Assisting the sales team with photocopying and printing various documents, sometimes on behalf of other colleagues.

The role

The Challenge is looking for Sales Administrators to join a leading youth and integration charity. You will be involved in a fast-paced Sales Team supporting the recruitment of young people on to the National Citizen Service (NCS). NCS is a government backed programme that helps young people (age 15-17) build skills for work, life and transition into adulthood. The role is a short term, paid position within one of the fastest growing charities in the UK.

The NCS Sales Administrator’s primary responsibilities will be responsibility is assisting in the smooth recruitment and retention of NCS to include:  

·        Administrative duties to support sales and sign up processes including data checking, data entry and external communications

·        Build and foster relationships with a wide range of audiences particularly through telecommunications

·        Make outbound calls to young people and their parents or guardians to support recruitment and retention of participants

·        Processing and checking initial applications

·        Assisting the sales team with photocopying and printing various documents, sometimes on behalf of other colleagues.

·        Work towards targets, supporting the sales team in the conversion of applicants from initial interest to complete sign up

Looking for candidates with:

About the role

We are looking for energetic and creative people leaders to drive our sales efforts to enrol young people on NCS. The role requires a combination of strengths in people, account, and process management. Reporting to a Senior Sales Manager, the SM will lead a team of ~15-25 staff, which will include a mix of experienced NCS Associate Sales Managers (ASMs), NCS Sales Team Leaders (STLs), NCS Engagement Coordinators (ECs) and apprentices, to find, select and place 15-17 year-olds into The Challenge’s local programmes as well as overseeing recruitment for programmes delivered by Local Delivery Partners in the contract area. It represents a great opportunity to expand people leadership skills and to bring creativity to a sales approach.

The Sales Managers’ primary responsibilities are: 

·        Recruit and oversee on-going training and coaching of sales staff including their professional development

·        Direct line management and motivation of ASMs through an annual campaign

·        Setting, analysing and monitoring performance against targets for each area and close management, and adapting of processes to ensure delivery of targets

·        Secure the sign up, assignment and turn-up of the full contingent of participants for all of your area’s programmes in the summer and October half term, including efficient waiting list management

·        Significant input to national sales and marketing strategy, working with Head of Sales and Sales and Marketing Director

·        Implement and adapt local strategy and processes to achieve a 30%+ increase in market penetration across existing schools

·        Establish and maintain relationships with local authorities and education leaders across multiple schools and other relevant organisations

·        Empower Relationship Managers and ASMs to lead the building of relationships with Head Teachers etc

·        Lead national projects and ensure high quality delivery

·        Oversee and ensure quality control of projects led by ASMs

·        Liaise with our Regional Delivery Provider (contract manager) to ensure high quality reporting and results
