Our favourite disused phonebox

Last weekend whilst walking through the small village of Thurlstone in Devon, I came across an inspiring example of how to bring people together.

Here in this village, the old iconic red phonebox has been turned into a mini library with a broad selection of books. The result? A valuable service for local people, owned by local people and bringing local people together.

Thurlestone is not the first community to explore this neat scheme. Over a thousand other communities have bought their disused phonebox – with some creating grocers and art galleries.

Working at The Challenge Network we’re lucky enough to regularly be inspired by, and involved with, innovative projects that creatively bring people together.  This week the blog is going to showcase some of the best. Let us know yours!
