About the role

NCS is a government backed programme that helps young people (aged 15-17) build skills for work, life and transition into adulthood. This is an incredible opportunity to be a part of role that contributes to the shaping of strategies used on a local and national level.

We are looking for an energetic and creative people leader to drive our efforts to enrol young people in our programmes. The role requires a rare combination of strengths in people, account, and process management. With support from a Sales Manager (SM), the Associate Sales Manager (ASM) will lead a team of ~ 6-10 staff, which could include a mix of experienced Sales Team Leaders (STL), Engagement Coordinators (ECs), administrators and apprentices, to find and place 15-17 year-olds into The Challenge’s local NCS programmes. It represents a great opportunity to expand people leadership and management skills and to bring creativity to a sales and marketing approach.

Responsibilities

  • Direct line management and motivation of ECs and STLs, possibly an administrator and or an apprentice
  • Closely manage the tasks and workloads of your team, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness
  • Oversee on-going training and coaching of your team, including their professional development
  • Responsibility for setting and monitoring performance against individual and team targets for each area to ensure delivery of sign up targets
  • Work closely with the Account Management Team in the region to be able to deploy ECs and STLs at events and assemblies to sign young people up to NCS
  • Input to national sales strategy (working with SMs)
  • Implement national strategy, and build adapted local strategy and processes, etc. to maximise growth
  • Quality assurance through attending assemblies, and parent information evenings to evaluate and address EC and STL events and sales performance
  • Oversee STL projects and ensure high quality delivery

Desirable

  • Sales and marketing experience
  • Managing a sales team
  • Experience of working with Excel to an intermediate level
  • Experience working with 15-17 year olds and/or within the education sector.
