The Challenge Network (TCN) has launched the TCN Business Group which seeks to bring together ambitious businesses to help spearhead our next flagship initiatives. The group was launched at a private reception for business leaders, held at prestigious 5 Star Kensington hotel, The Milestone.

The evening was hosted by our Chairman, Colin Smith OBE, and a number of prominent businesses attended, including Allianz Global Assistance, BskyB, Capgemini, Shanks Group and The Hurlingham Club. The launch was an opportunity for business leaders to hear testimonials from our NCS graduates and discuss their role in helping young people to develop employability skills through volunteering and community engagement. Guest speaker, Alex Deane (Head of Public Affairs at Weber Shandwick, Councilman for The City of London) also gave a rousing speech, calling for more businesses to play their part in tackling some of today’s most pressing social challenges.

Alan Coates, Trustee for Heathrow Communities Trust stated, “The format of the evening was excellent and the venue was first class. It was great to meet the young people and hear their personal stories. Their presentations were delivered with confidence and they were enthusiastic and sincere. Heathrow Communities Trust is pleased to support a programme that is impacting so many young people in a significant way”.

The Challenge Society 2013 kicks off this November and we look forward to working with the new Business Group as we develop these new programmes.
