We are delighted to welcome Oliver to The Challenge as the Chief Executive.

A former colonel in the Royal Marines, Oliver served for 20 years including in Bosnia, Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan.

He also worked as a personal adviser to the Chief of Defence Staff, the Secretary of State for the Defence and the Armed Forces Minister.

One of his most recent roles was as commander of 2,000 men and women in Nad-e-Ali District, Helmand Province.

On his appointment, Oliver said: “Being given the chance to lead The Challenge is an enormous privilege. Its mission, values, people and successes are just some of the compelling reasons why I wanted to join. I look forward to hitting the ground running during this busy time and getting quickly involved with all our other areas of activity.”

We hope you will join us in welcoming Oliver as he takes up his new post.
