The Challenge Network, in partnership with vInspired, Catch 22 and London Youth, was recently awarded a £964,000 grant from the Social Action Fund to support on-going opportunities for NCS graduates and their friends.

The Social Action Fund is a new grant fund of over £20 million managed by the Social Investment Business on behalf of the Office for Civil Society. Over £500,000 of the grant will specifically support the on-going activities of The Challenge Society.

The four partners will be offering a number of common opportunities for NCS graduates, including social action days, youth boards, peer mentoring and NCS ambassadorial roles. Many of these opportunities are open to young people who haven’t been through NCS, therefore increasing the impact of the programme.

Luba Mandzy Herring, Director of Development at The Challenge Network says, “With this money we can support on-going civic engagement of young people within their communities as The Challenge Society is a great opportunity to build on the success of the summer programme.”
