The Challenge Network wins global award

The Challenge Network were recently awarded a global ‘Making a Difference’ award from international PR firm Weber Shandwick. The partnership with the firm was nominated as one of the top three pro bono projects across their 130 offices.

Weber Shandwick were a professional partner on The Challenge programme, hosting a professional visit at their Holborn offices for a team of young people. Alex Deane, Head of Public Affairs, was also a ‘dragon’ on a funding pitch panel, providing feedback to 60 young people on their social action projects. The experience inspired Alex to nominate the partnership for the prestigious award.

Alex stated “I wanted to bring young people from The Challenge into my firm as it’s vital for young people to see how businesses work. The young people displayed optimism in their thinking which is characteristic of the ethos at Weber Shandwick.”

“It was a thoroughly rewarding process. In an age when saying negative things about youth is very fashionable, the impressively passionate Challenge participants demonstrated how promising our future can be.”
