Francis Maude visits The Challenge

On July 27th Cabinet Minister Francis Maude visited The Challenge in West London.  A photography team taking on the Team Challenge (week 2 of the programme) were visiting Jigsaw4u, a charity which works with young people going through trauma or grief. Young People from The Challenge were visiting the centre to use their newly acquired photography skills to interact with young people at the centre, find out about their experiences, and capture those along with the services Jigsaw4u provide in images. The images will then be used to create a booklet about the organisation and its services for young people.

Francis Maude met young people taking on The Challenge and talked to a few of them about their experience of the programme so far. He also met staff and young people from Jigsaw4u and heard about their views of working with The Challenge, the impact of the interactions between their young people and Challengers, what the organisation has gained from the partnership so far and what they hope to gain in future from the social action projects Challengers will deliver for them.

The event was captured by Wimbledon Guardian journalist Craig Burnett, whose account you can read here.
