One young Challenge graduate was recently offered a prestigious work experience placement with Barclays Bank. The opportunity came about due to a collaboration of efforts from The Challenge Network’s graduate programme, The Challenge Society and business partner, Ernst & Young.

On Monday 1st of July, a team of twenty two young people stepped into the shoes of Leigh Journal’s press team, for the debut of ‘The Leigh Games’. The annual sporting event was organised by Andy Burnham MP and Lesley McGreebey from Wigan and Leigh NHS to promote sport for young people in the area.

The benefits of regular reflection

This summer over 14,000 young people will take part in NCS powered by The Challenge. For 15-17 year olds across the country, NCS will be a time of reflection, where their strengths and weaknesses will be made unquestionably clear.

On May 25, a team of young people completed the Yorkshire Dales Three Peak Challenge. The team was comprised of 7 young people and 3 staff members from Manchester Deaf Centre (MDC) and 9 National Citizen Service (NCS) graduates. The group covered 17 miles of ascension in 12 hours, raising hundreds of pounds for MDC.
