The Challenge Network has scooped two awards at the annual Celebrating Youth Excellence awards ceremony in Birmingham. The event was organised by Youth 4 Excellence as a way to showcase and celebrate the outstanding achievements of local young people committed to making a real difference in their community.

The ceremony took place on 14 September and saw The Challenge Network’s West Midlands team win ‘Organisation of Excellence Award’, fending off stiff competition from Envision, Social Breakfast, Girls Group UK and Norton Hall Children and Family Centre.  Eighteen year old Connor Wood also won ‘Young Samaritan of the Year’ award, in recognition of his work in the local community.

Speaking about his award, Connor stated, “Taking part in National Citizen Service with The Challenge Network last year sparked my interest in community engagement. I am really pleased that this work has been recognised. I have really enjoyed working on many different local projects and it is really satisfying to know that I am making a real difference in my local community.”
