Step Forward offers an innovative solution to today’s HR issues. Apprenticeships feature in many organisations’ HR strategies but, in practice, it can be difficult to find and recruit suitable young people. At the same time, firms often struggle to realise their diversity & inclusiveness ambitions. In-house recruitment, commission-based agencies and internet job sites all have their flaws. Poor hiring decisions can be frustrating, distracting and expensive. Step Forward provides a new and different approach. We take the effort out of screening, remove the hiring headaches and minimise the risks.

A simple way to recruit entry-level staff

Our contacts with ambitious school leavers are unparalleled. The Challenge has built trusting relationships with 2500 educational establishments since 2009. This gives Step Forward access 18 year olds in 98% of London’s schools and colleges. Our talent pool truly represents the diversity of the city. We operate across a range of industries and sectors. Our high quality programme gives employers a simple, cost-effective way of recruiting staff for entry-level roles. Apprentice’s job descriptions are not pre-defined, but we specialise in:

A convenient recruitment and support process 

Hundreds of budding apprentices have already been rigorously assessed and selected for 2015. Dates for our 4 interview events have been set. Simply contact one of our Account Managers. We’ll listen carefully to your recruitment needs and agree the job description for your ideal apprentice. We’ll send you CVs for 3 great local candidates. You just turn up at the event and take your pick. Your new member of staff will be enrolled on specialist training, and prepared for a year of work from September. We’ll provide regular on-site mentoring for the apprentice – and practical support for you.

Outstanding value for money and real CSR

Our not-for-profit business model and access to external funding mean we can offer the entire programme for just £12,000. This price includes the apprentice’s salary, a year of professional training, and all on-going mentoring and support. Considering the impact an enthusiastic young person could have on your organisation, we believe it represents unbeatable value for money. Step Forward makes good business sense, and demonstrates real corporate social responsibility in your local community. Still unsure? To demonstrate our confidence, we only request our fee once your apprentice has successfully passed their 1-month probation period.
