Later this year, The Challenge will launch the Social Integration Commission; a 12 month national inquiry set up to explore whether a lack of connection between people of different ages, ethnicities and social backgrounds has an effect on our economy and society.

Chaired by Matthew Taylor (CEO of the RSA), the Commission will bring together leading figures from business, politics, academia, and civil society, and is being supported by our partner, British Gas.

Matthew will be supported by a board of seven independent Commissioners, including Trevor Phillips OBE (former Head of Commission for Racial Equality), Mary Macleod (MP for Brentford and Isleworth) and Christine McGourty (Director of Corporate Affairs at British Gas). There are also a number of working groups which have been set up to work alongside the Commissioners in reviewing the emerging evidence, informing emerging hypotheses and ensuring policy recommendations are practical and realistic.

For more information, email [email protected], visit the Social Integration Commission website or follow us on Twitter and Facebook

We look forward to sharing the insights produced by the inquiry in future updates.
