The Challenge has been providing Secretariat support to the Social Integration Commission. This independent body, chaired by CEO of the RSA, Matthew Taylor, is exploring the impact of a lack of social integration on the UK.

Last month, the Commission launched its second report, ‘Social Integration: A wake-up call’.

The report found that the cost to the UK of a lack of social integration between people of different ages, incomes and ethnicities is around £6 billion a year (equivalent to 0.5 per cent of total GDP).

You can see a short video of the findings here. The report has also received media coverage in The Independent and The Mirror.
