We are delighted to announce that Heathrow Community Fund, part of the grant making charity BAA Communities Trust, is extending the current funding partnership with The Challenge Network.

A grant from the airport fund will go towards supporting 940 young people from nearby Hillingdon, Ealing and Hounslow, as they participate in The Challenge programme in 2012 and 1 year of The Challenge Society graduate programme.

In March, five Challenge Ambassadors delivered a compelling presentation to the BAA Community Trust Board, sharing personal testimonies of how they had benefited from participating in The Challenge Network’s programmes. Trustee Alison Moore stated “I was impressed by the attitude the young people showed towards the programme and that there is a progression route available for them.” Another trustee Alan Coates also commented: “I believe The Challenge Network is a worthwhile organisation whose programmes help develop youth both individually and collectively. I think these programmes undoubtedly help to make these individuals more confident and better placed to make their communities more integrated and progressive.”

The Challenge Network looks forward to collaborating with Heathrow’s employees during 2012.
