The Challenge were delighted to host the Prime Minister today when he visited young people taking part in the National Citizen Service in Betws-y-Coed, North Wales.

Alongside TV personality Bear Grylls, David Cameron spent the day with participants on an NCS programme being delivered by The Challenge to see first-hand the benefits of the social mixing and skill development programme.

The Prime Minister used this visit as to announce a new partnership between the National Citizen Service and Teach First, which will see graduates on the teaching scheme volunteer to help out with activities on NCS.

This visit is the latest show of support from the Prime Minister, following his speech on extremism last month which cited NCS as a valuable case study for ending segregation among young people.

The National Citizen Service is a government-backed programme which brings together young people from diverse backgrounds, providing them with strong skills for life, work, and adulthood. The Challenge is the bigger provider of the programme.
