About the role
We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our staffing team. You will play an important role in attracting and selecting high-quality seasonal staff across Manchester and Lancashire who will work on National Citizen Service (NCS) with The Challenge programmes in 2018. You will support the delivery of the recruitment strategy through all stages of the process: from the initial attraction of applicants to screening and assessing candidates, planning and placing seasonal staff, overseeing compliance checks and supporting staff with any questions and queries up to the point that they start the programme.
The Recruitment Associate’s primary responsibilities include:
- Relationship building and lead generation: Researching and building relationships with a variety of sources of seasonal staff including universities, schools, community organisations, youth charities and public sector organisations.
- Presentations and events – organising and presenting at a range of events and fairs to attract seasonal staff.
- Selection and matching: Using a candidate management system (Salesforce) to screen applications applying to your geographical area. Ensuring all assessments are filled and regularly leading the group assessments, taking responsibility for running a fair process, ensuring a high quality of experience for candidates and placing appropriately qualified staff into relevant roles.
- Candidate relationship management: Responsibility for effective relationship management with all candidates, ensuring they are engaged throughout the recruitment process, tracking their requirements to ensure the programme is fully staffed, and maintaining a reserve list where required.
- Compliance: Responsibility for ensuring that candidates are compliant with The Challenge’s safeguarding and safer recruitment policies i.e. supporting candidates to complete DBS checks, collecting references and the right to work checks.

This is a full-time, fixed-term role based in Manchester, with weekly travel to Preston.
