Paid seasonal and temporary roles on NCS. We offer a wide range of people the fantastic opportunity to lead and inspire young people.

Each year we offer a mixture of residential and community-based and day roles to work on our Summer and Half-term Programmes. As we continue to grow, this year will see the number of seasonal role vacancies grow to a huge 4,500, with even more new locations and roles to choose from.

We do not hire outdoor activities staff, however if you have experience working with young people you could apply to one of our roles listed below…

What are we looking for?

Programme Leader:
Lead a team of seasonal staff and young people aged 15-17 through all three residential and non-residential parts of the programme.

Assistant Programme Leader:
Supports the Programme Leader and Senior Mentors with the pastoral care and behaviour management of up to 84 yong people aged 15-17 on Part 1 & 2 of the NCS programme.

Programme Administrator:
Responsible for a variety of logistical and administrative tasks, and equipment management that assists and supports the Programmes Team in the office in the delivery of the NCS Programme.

Senior Mentor:
Leads and inspiresm a team of up to 13 young people in their development through all three parts of the NCS programme.

Community Facilitator:
Supports teams of young people working on their projects, working in the local community.

Support Worker: 
Inspiries and assists individual young people with additional needs or challenging behaviour through the whole of their NCS journey.

Skills Practitioner:
With a passion and knowledge in either Sport, Drama, Media (Video), Photography, Music, Enterprise or Art, you’ll share your skills with the young people and help them develop during Part 2 of the programme.

THE Dates:

  • Roles available throughout June – September
  • Roles last between three and 18 days
  • All staff are asked to attend two or three days of training
  • New staff are required to attend a one-day assessment
