The External Affairs and Fundraising Manager’s primary responsibilities are:

  • Working closely with the Chief Executive, lead the development and delivery of the income generation strategy for The Challenge Network
  • Coach managers to identify income generation opportunities and build their business development skills
  • Oversee the preparation of monitoring and evaluation reports for funders and investors
  • Develop and deliver external communications and media relations strategy
  • Manage the application process for new and existing grant applications, proactively finding new opportunities, making use of knowledge across the organisation 

About you

We are looking for exceptional candidates with the following experience and characteristics:

  • Significant track record of successful fundraising from corporate sector, charitable foundations, philanthropists, public sector grants
  • Interest in building stronger communities and seeing change in society
  • Keen for rapid career progression as the charity grows, with scope for  significant impact across the sector
  • Flexibility, persistence and resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, result-oriented environment
  • An energetic, enthusiastic and persuasive personality
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in group and individual settings and gravitas with senior audiences.
  • Excellent written communication skills, and understanding of various stakeholders’ priority interests
  • Ability to build rapport with a wide variety of people
  • Experience working with the media

Further details

  • This is a permanent, full-time role based in London, starting in October 2010.
  • Salary for the role is £35k-40k per year; more may be available for an exceptional candidate.  We also offer a stakeholder pension, a Cycle to Work scheme and opportunities for flexible working.
