About the opportunity

The Central Operations Associate will work at the centre of our efforts.  Activities will touch all of our functions, especially our marketing and staffing efforts.  This is a great opportunity to see how a whole business works and drive the organisation’s ability to operate at national scale.

The Central Operation Associate’s primary responsibilities are:

  • Creating and coordinating mass and individualised communications with partners, applicants, participants, parents, and summer staff
  • Managing applications and associated information for prospective participants from first contact through to start date
  • Managing content in central information systems, on The Challenge intranet and on our public website

About you

We are looking for exceptional candidates with the following experience and characteristics:

Essential:

  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong written communication skills and fluency with written and spoken English
  • Comfort with standard computer tools like Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Great attention to detail, even when handling large volumes of information
  • Willingness to jump into new things, as well as patience to give full effort to ‘routine’ things
  • Ability to identify and implement real-time improvements to office processes
  • Beneficial:

    • Office work experience
    • Customer service experience
    • Familiarity working with databases and reports
    • Power user’ skills in Microsoft office or Google apps tools

    Further details

    • This is a fixed term (January-August 2011) role based in London, with opportunities to progress into permanent positions.
    • Salary for the role is £1000 per month.
