Salesforce Systems Associate

About The Challenge and The Challenge Society

The Challenge is a programme that brings together young people from different backgrounds, builds their confidence, and challenges them to make a difference in their local community. The programme is growing rapidly: we worked with over 3000 young people in 2011 and will be working with more than 9000 new young people in 2012, in addition to those young people we continue to work with through The Challenge Society, our alumni programme.

Robust systems and processes are essential to our ability to deliver our programmes.

About the opportunity

We make extensive use of Salesforce throughout the organisation, and have developed multiple customised systems which are key to our ability to deliver our programme. As we expand both the scale and the range of our work, we will be further developing our use of Salesforce, both through building new systems and developing and rationalising our existing systems.

This role provides the opportunity to develop and improve a range of systems across all functions of the organisation. This is a varied role which includes
• Business analysis and the development of new systems
• Improvement and maintenance of existing systems
• Documentation
• End user training
• Data analysis.

The Salesforce Specialist will report to the Head of Central Operations. The Central Operations department works across all The Challenge Network’s functions, managing systems, processes and communications.

About you

We are looking for exceptional candidates with the following experience and characteristics:

Salesforce experience:
Essential:
• A very strong of understanding of Salesforce. Certification (or attendance at) Salesforce’s ADM201 and ADM301 course is not required, but your level of Salesforce understanding should not be less than the material covered at these courses.
• Creation of fields, views, reports, dashboards and workflows
• Thorough understanding of security
• Experience of data migration
• Experience of gathering and analysing business requirements, and of designing an appropriate Salesforce structure
• Design and creation of custom objects and relationships
• Installation and customisation of existing apps
• Basic Visualforce
• Creation of basic Apex triggers
• At least one year’s experience of operating at a level which includes the all of the above

Beneficial:
• Experience of commissioning work from developers
• Experience of Salesforce-integrated websites

Other experience and characteristics

Essential:
• Passionate interest in developing creative solutions and robust systems and processes
• Strong analytical and logical thinking
• Excellent communication skills, and ability to understand the needs of end users
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to lead and manage a project
• Superb attention to detail
• High level knowledge of Excel

Beneficial:
• Experience of using Google Apps
• Experience in planning and delivering training

Further details

Salary for the role will be in the range £30-35k, dependent on experience

The role is based in London, at our offices near Lambeth North and Waterloo. There will be occasional travel to our offices in Birmingham and Manchester.
